We get to Cozumel where we had planned to have Josh pick us up, and he does... but only like half an hour after we've been waiting outside in the 80 degree weather in our winter clothes! I swear my hair went curly in a matter of minutes from the humidity. Finally we see Josh pull up with phil and clayton already in the car. So we have to squeeze into the car like sardines.
We pull up to our condo, ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, the condos were huge! We had 2 condos one for the "kids" and one for the adults. So in our condo we had Mary Bryce and their kids elsie and colt in one room, calee and i in one room, and then allllll the boys ; phil jared josh devin and clayton in one room (with one bed) haha! Then there was a huge kitchen / living room and a deck surrounding the entir front side of the condo, so we could see the entire ocean. It was breath taking to even look outside your window at the motorcycle gangs that would drive past us every single night! In the bottom condo was jareds mom and dad in a room and both sets of grandparents with their own rooms.
Each day we went snorkling and enjoyed the beautiful weather. It was so warm down there, I was surprised because i had just gotten back from Mazatlan the previous week, and it wasn't nearly as warm. The sea life was incredible we saw a range of things from lobsters to lion fish. The boys saw an octopus one night, but that was a boys snorkling trip, so they very well could be lying and we would never know!
We ate at so many fun places, and enjoyed doing so many things in the short time that we were there. We had 2 ice cream experiences the first suckkkkkked, and the second was scrumptious. We also watched Phil make a fool of himself by trying the hottest sauce in the world not only once but 3 times! I have pictures of all of them, because I thought it was cute that he was crying. We also made a trip to Miki D's which was way better than any meal I've had from Mcdonalds in the USA. I think the favorite restaurant of the trip was Costa brava, that mary and bryce discovered. We went out most nights, and enjoyed eating everywhere, even though all i would order is the cheese quesadilla.
We did a couple tours through out the trip. We went to a light house and climbed the 5 million stairs to the top, but it was the most incredible thing I have ever witnessed, i could see the bottom of the ocean from a mile high, the water in cozumel is so crystal clear, you could drop a penny and dive for it! We also went to the ruins and made up our own stories of what happened in ancient times. At the ruins we found a cave and we stayed in it for longer than we stayed at any ancient building.. we are easily entertained. Kind of ridiculous.
The last day we were there we decided to rent scooters and tour the island on our own. It was the most fun I have ever had. Calee and I were riding on the back of Devin and Jareds scooters, but Josh Phil and Clayton had their own. So there was a little gang of us 5. We would stop anywhere we thought was interesting. We went to a few beaches, and we stopped and ate, we even took a tour of the tequilla factory, which was disgusting! they wanted us to sample all this tequilla and i tried one, and felt so sick that i would give all my little "shots" away behind the tour guides back.
All and All I love the DeMann Family and had the most amazing time. Even on the way back when I was so tired and couldn't sleep on the plane and Jared just let me stretch on the plane, and play word search puzzles with him. He really is the greatest. After January was over i had spent 4 and a half weeks since December 14th in Mexico, so I was excited to get back and start speaking where everyone understood me again, and using my dollars instead of pesos.
