Scare me not!

I cannot for the life of me think of something entertaining that happened between yesterday and today to blog about, so I pulled out my handy notebook of “Ideas for Blogging” and one of the ideas in there was my fears. I think that everyone has one or two fears that just make them queazy to think about, like spider or for my little brother it is crickets. He used to have pet snakes, and he fed them crickets. I would have to feed them, and then recapture the leftover crickets after they were done eating, so he could sleep at night. ha ha. Funny boy.
Anyway I am terrified of scorpions. When I was younger I put a shirt on while we were out camping and there was a scorpion in my shirt. It stung me all over my neck, and luckily it wasn’t too venomous, but I still had a swollen neck, and had to have the venom sucked out by a doctor. The rest of the night, I was supposed to stay awake to make sure I was still alive and they’d gotten all the venom out. Luckily, I am not dead. But the experience has scarred me.

My other worst fear is car trouble. Last year my tire flew off while I was driving at least 75 mph on the freeway. Big O Tires hadn’t put my tire on the rim correctly and it wobbled all the nuts loose and flew off my car. Anyway it damaged my car pretty badly, but I was fine. When my car was out of control and sparking I finally made it to the side of the road and just sat and bawled. A little because I was scared, and a little because I knew that I would have to fix the car. After I fixed the car, i ended up selling it because every time I drove in him (his name was Vern), I felt like he was going to spontaneously combust, and I HATE dealing with mechanics (except my roommate) because they always try to screw me over. Like oh, the $29 price just went to $89 for an oil change, screw that! Anyway I am terrified that at any point while I am driving something will happen to my car, I will be all alone, and have no idea what to do.

I think that I am scared of a lot of things like getting lost, losing my dog, finding a dead body, looking under rocks ( I always think there will be something horrible under there or dead reptiles), getting stuck in a cave…
What is your number one worst fear? Ever.

I was thinking about what fears I have and a bit list came to mind, hmmm I didn't realize I had that manyOne of my worst fears is getting into a really bad accident. This is also going to sound silly, but I don't handle pain well AT ALL and I HATE going to the dr,,,with that being said, I'm terrified about having a baby. Haha. I know it sounds ridiculous. fears. 7. Scorpions are scary little things...there are certain places around here where there's a lot of them.

I had a really bad wreck about 6 years ago, someone hit me in the back going 55 mph (I was a dead stop). Thankfully I was okay, but every time I'm at a traffic light or I put on brakes...I'm always looking behind me to see if there's a crazy person that's not stopping.

My number one fear? It would be really hard to narrow that down...I'm afraid of a good many things.

    1. That sounds horrible. I once was rear ended, not nearly as bad as yours, but I do the same thing. I am constantly looking in my rear view mirror to make sure the car behind me is stopping.

I think we're all afraid of lots of things, or at least I am!

  8. yikes those are some scary stories! I just had my first scorpion experience a few weeks ago and even though it wasn't as bad as yours, I never want to see one again!

    1. They are scary little creatures. Nothing about them is friendly in the least bit. I don't know how people on fear factor eat them!

    and the dark.

    1. I get more scared of things the older I get. Like just recently I start to fear the ocean and all the creatures it has in it. I think it's the unknown that scares me!

  10. Holy wow woman, you got stung by a scorpion?? And you survived?? THAT'S HARDCORE. You have LIVED TO TELL MY FRIEND! That's just crazy. And terrifying.

I'm definitely scared of the typical creatures: spiders, snakes, SCORPIONS.

And the ocean. I love the beach, but I don't go into the water very often anymore. I just don't like swimming in water where I can't see my feet. And also, where there might be sharks and other mysterious creatures with the potential to sting/eat me.

I also fear the possibility of a massive tidal wave. I drive along the coast every night to and from work, and at night on my way home, it's pretty daunting to look over and see just black. Like you can't even separate the ocean from the sky. I always think about how gnarley and terrifying it would be if there was a tidal wave all of a sudden. I'd be screwed.

    I fear I'll die young.

    1. You will not die young! That is a good fear though, it would totally suck not to be able to live a long and filled life.

Also I can totally see the ocean as a fear. It scares me more the older I get. Mostly because you have no idea what is in there. It's terrifying to go swimming or diving when you don't know what you'll run into or even the "powers" of the things you are looking at! It's a whole different world in the ocean.

      Do you fear horses ;)

  11. I was stung by a scorpion too! While I was sleeping when I was 5!! Crazy! You're the only other person I've ever heard of getting stung, I mean I know it happens...Apparantly I was awake for nearly 3 days straignt because they had to wait to let the venom pass because I got to the hospital too late. By the time the ambulance got there, I was already convulsing and all kinds of crazy. NUTS!

Well, glad we survived that adventure!

    xo Kayla

    1. WOAH! I don't remember convulsing or anything like that. That is so crazy. My uncle rushed me to the marina hospital which is like a little room and they applied a sucker thing to my neck, but it got red and poofy and the same thing as you, where I was suppose to stay awake. My mom would sit and wake me up anytime I fell asleep. It is scary!

I am happy to meet someone with a similar experience! I seriously have never met anyone like me before =)

    1. I agree. I could sit in my house and just live via blogland and be totally fine. I get more scared of things as I get older too. I will be a mess when I am a mom. I am already ultra protective over my doggy.

  13. oh you were just hoping to get your neck sucked on. i know how you are!

My worst fear EVER is blowing a tire. I seriously dont know what I would do. I always tell my hubby that I will ride rim until I get to where I am going!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think I would do the same thing. I would probably ride on the rim, what else do you do? Just stop and hang out. That is terrifying. No WAY!

I kinda just asked the scorpion to do a little foreplay with me, it didn't turn out how I hoped ;)

uhm, that scorpion story? yikes!! that's what you get for camping in utah!!

my worst all-time fear? gosh...this is surprisingly hard to answer. probably something like, someone walking in on me naked while dancing. that's NEVER good.

    1. Thank you Dusty! Seriously, I am never going to camp in that place again. Who honestly invented scorpions?

hahahaha. Do you dance naked often? Was that far too inappropriate to ask?

    2. WORD VERIFICATION BLOWS! I will scream it from every mountain top I can find or climb too. So do I have like 11 bloggy points? That's a lot. Your fears are terrifying,
      1. in real life I love candy but HATE chocolate. So finding like a lake of chocolate would be a fear of mine.
2.Oprah is scary because she'd probably try and like telepathecially make you a better person, who needs that?
      3. Step sisters are always bad according to disney..
4.Mariah Cary married nick cannon and had their twins 1st bday in paris, so she is like a witch. 5.Mushrooms are delicious, but they grow in cow shit and shit is terrifying.

So I AGREE and comply with all your fears.

    1. I am a snake lover too. I used to have those little garden snakes used to be all over my yard, and my brother and I would go catch them and keep them for like a week, and then rerelease them.

Black widows are a huge fear of mine.

  20. My number one worst fear ever is Tornadoes. Everyone thinks I hate thunderstorms because I get so freaked out but really it's just the thought that a tornado could happen. I seriously about have a panic attack over them.

And spiders are pretty dang scary as well.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm scared of most all natural disasters. I feel like its something that is just so out of anyone's control and all you can do Is wait it out. Which is a terrifying thought! I think that tornadoes are a very valid fear!
