IT IS TODAY! I tried to make that a jeopardy question. I guess I don’t watch jeopardy very much or I would know a little bit more about how to write a simple question. Anyway I just glanced over at my calendar and realized that today, not tomorrow, BUT TODAY! Jared and I have been married for 10 months. Even though it feels like 10 years. Not because it feels so long, but because I just don’t know what I was doing or who I was before I had Jared in my life. We met in 2008, and I don’t even know what happened before then… I guess high school, middle school, elementary and kindergarten.
Anyway I just wanted to take a quick moment and write down 10 unexpected things in the first 10 months of marriage.
- -Jared and I will most likely never go to bed at the same time, and no matter how many blogs out there say this is bad. I don’t believe it.
- - Just because you’re married, you do not really have to be domestic, and learn to cook.
- - When you’re married, doing laundry for 2 is TWICE as much as before.
- - It’s fine to stay at home on a Friday night.
- - It’s not any less fun to hang out with your single friends.
- - Not everyone smells good in the morning.
- - It is INCREDIBLY awesome to have someone sit through the pain of doing taxes with you.
- - When there are 2 of you, it’s way easier to have a messy room. EVEN more so with a big bulldog.
- - Don’t read too much into what other people think makes up the perfect marriage, because every person is different SO every marriage will be different.
- - When you have a husband, you have a partner in crime.
Just for kicks here is a number 11, your wedding won’t be the best day of your life. It may be one of them, but things just keep getting better.

DeleteCongrats on 10 months! I know what you mean...I've only been with my husband Angel for a total of just over 2 years...and I can't remember not knowing him or not sharing my life with him, I have no idea what it was like! Either that or I can't bring myself to imagine it. :P

DeleteI just wanted to say, I just noticed your #11--I totally agree! I can't quite understand people who talk about their wedding day as the best day of their lives. To me, it seems like marriage just keeps getting better, and I'm convinced that even now, the best is yet to come!

ReplyDeleteI agree with the wedding part. I had to plan my wedding 6 months and I was ready to call it off 2 weeks before the big day because of the stress. Thankfully hubby talked to me and reassured me that it would be ok and stress free once we get it over with. :)
I will be super excited! I do feel like all our dating anniversaries were wasted now that we are starting all the way back at one... BOOO!

Do you find it crazy that you'll be coming up on a year, but yet it feels like it's been forever?? Kind of weird how that works. I totally agree that staying home on a Friday night is A-okay. DeleteIt's all good, sometimes wedding pages get over looked. We should definitely plan a anniversary cruise together when we are like 80, because that would just be cool. I will wear awesome orthopedic shoes. I'm really looking forward to that.

ReplyDeleteit will be mine and my mister's 1 year on July 16th (that is weird even typing it!) so, I will be stealing this and referencing back to it when the time comes. It's so fun to keep lists like this so you can look back and remember what you were thinking and going through. Love it!! Here's to many more crazy things to learn... and more laundry. LOTS more laundry :/ hahah
